Airline Per se invited us to rebrand the company and fleet of aircraft. Our approach to the logotype utilised a traditional serif in the form of a modified Requiem. Inspired by an illustration in a sixteenth-century writing manual, Requiem celebrates the fertile world of Renaissance humanism.
The symbol represents a contemporary view on the four forces of flight – lift, thrust, weight and drag. The rotation of the symbol is at a constant 10 degrees, which visualises a typical take off angle for a modern jetliner. This symbol becomes the framework for the visual brand as seen on the livery of this Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
